SEATTLE – Keeghan Edwards didn’t just travel all the way from Colorado to Dempsey Indoor Facility for just one meet record. She wanted to make the most of her trip.

Less than 16 hours after setting a meet record in girls 3,000-meter race Saturday night, the sophomore from Mountain Vista CO delivered another record-setting performance in the girls mile on the final day of the University of Washington High School Invitational on Sunday.

Edwards, representing Kokopelli Kids, ran one of six meet records set on day two of competition, running 4 minutes, 56.59 to win the girls mile. Lucy Huelskamp from Sunset OR ran the previous record of 4:58.33 in 2018.

With a mile record and the 3,000 record, timed in 9:41.76, Edwards was also one of two athletes who set two individual meet records during the two-day stretch.

Spokane Speed Academy’s Dominick Corley (Mead WA) collected wins in both the boys 60 and 200 dashes, running record times of 6.73 and 21.64 just hours apart.

Corley managed to take down Micah Williams’ time of 6.88 in the 60 and Cristian Moore’s time of 21.94 in the 200 from the 2018 meet.

Three more meet record performances were put together to close out the weekend, including Nike Cross Nationals All-American Joshua Bell (Templeton CA) in the boys mile, running 4:12.05, Alden Morales (JSerra CA) in the boys 800, running 1:52.15, and Forest Park’s Ellery Lincoln (Lincoln OR) in the girls 800, running 2:13.63.

Ready-Set-Go Sprinters’ Sofia Calabretta ran away from the field in the girls 60 final, running 7.64.

GLS Speeds’ Elaine Hudacsko (Interlake WA) and Issac Ford (East Valley-Yakima WA) made it a sweep in the 400 races, with Hudackso winning the girls race in 57.78 and Ford winning the boys race in 48.95.

Beliya Tidd ran 25.24 to win the girls 200 and pick up another win on the track for GLS Speed.

GLS Speed’s Aaliyah Khan (Mercer Island WA) won the girls long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 3.75 inches (5.58m).

Super Thrower’s Marissa Johnson (Tigard OR) collected her second win of the meet, winning the girls shot put with a throw of 43-7.75 (13.30m) to add to her weight throw win on Saturday.

Ava Enriquez and Victoria Spitzley of Northwest Pole Vault shared first place in the girls pole vault competition, both clearing 12-7.5 (3.85m). Both girls each missed seven attempts total, including all three on the final height at 12-11.5 (3.95m).

Will Foster (Prairie WA) threw 54-5.50 (16.60m) in the boys shot put, winning by more than five feet.

Tomeko Cates (Mary Walker WA) jumped 22-3.50 (6.79m) to win the boys long jump and go with his win in the high jump from Saturday.
